Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel)
ABSTRACT
The aim of the project is to construct a domestic pepper grinding machine to be powered by electric and fuel through pulley and belt transmission. The project is to perform grinding on grains e.g pepper. In construction of the project, there are various factors that is being put into consideration.
i.The size specification
ii.The power of the electric motor to be used
iii.The domestic operation which can be performed by the machine.
iv.The capacity of the machine.

CHAPTER ONE
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Every year, the final year student of this institution in Higher National Diploma (HND) and the National Diploma (ND) into practice.
This is aimed at justifying the emphasis lead on practical work during the course of study in the assigned to construct a pepper grinding machine by the machine committee of Mechanical Engineering Department, the Polytechnic, Enugu.
A pepper grinding machine is an equipment used for grinding pepper and which can also grind other good crops. This equipment comprises essentially of an electric motor, belt, pulley, transmission shaft, hopper, mills, spiral conveyor and stands. These alleviate the rigours and problems house we encounter when grinding beans for the good stuff.
1.2 RESEARCH OBJECTIVE
The project research objective are:
- To construct a local fabricated pepper grinding machine using available local technology.
- To construct a machine with a size specification.
iii. To construct a machine which can perform a domestic operations.
- To construct a machine which have adequate capacity, lighter in weight, lesser fatigue and portable.
1.3 JUSTIFICATION OF STUDY
- This is to promote indigenous machine and their producers.
- To have a portable pepper grinding machine constructed for domestic uses with a powered driven source.
iii. To improve the economic and the country as a whole by neglecting imported blenders i.e producing machine that is affordable to substitute the imported blenders.
- To be able to meet National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) requirement in awarding National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering.
1.4 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The objectives of the study are:-
- To construct pepper grinding machine with local materials.
- To construct a machine which is less in crop and domestic usage.
iii. To produce a pepper grinding machine that is lesser in vibration, weight and in size.
1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
-It’s fast and can grind pepper as finely as any other mill I’ve used. It also can make fantastic cracked pepper because the coarse settings are easy to adjust.
-It can grind far more than just wheat.
-It doesn’t heat up the pepper like other wheat grinders can.
-It doesn’t spew pepper anywhere.
1.6 LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
The limitations of this project are:
-It cost of production can be higher for students
-It’s noisy.
-The capacity of the hopper is smaller than other heavy-duty mills. you would need to fill the hopper more frequently than mills with a larger capacity.
The Title Page should be the first section of your project “Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel)”, providing essential details like the project title, your name, your supervisor’s name, the institution, and the submission date. After that, the Abstract offers a brief summary of your project, touching on its purpose, methods, results, and conclusions in 150-300 words. The Acknowledgments section is where you can thank those who supported your research, such as your supervisor, peers, or organizations that provided resources.
Next, the Table of Contents organizes the Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel) by listing its chapters and sections, along with page numbers for easy reference. The List of Figures and List of Tables help guide readers to specific visual elements like graphs, charts, or tables included in the document. There should also be an Abbreviations and Glossary section to explain any specialized terms or acronyms, making the content clearer to readers unfamiliar with the technical language.
The main body of the Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel) should start with the Introduction, which provides background information, outlines the research problem, states your objectives, and gives a brief overview of your research methods. Following that, the Literature Review offers an in-depth look at previous research relevant to your project, identifying gaps your study aims to address. The Methodology section then explains the research design, tools, and data collection methods you used to conduct the project and analyze the data.
In the Results and Discussion section, you present your findings and discuss them in relation to the Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel) research questions or objectives, often using tables or charts to help explain the data. The Conclusion summarizes the key results, discusses their implications, and suggests possible directions for future research. You may also include recommendations based on your findings, offering practical advice for improvements or applications. Finally, the Pepper Grinding Machine With A Dual Power Supply (Electricity And Fuel) project should include a References or Bibliography section to list all the sources you cited, as well as Appendices for any additional material. A Statement of Originality is often included to confirm the authenticity of your work
